Digital terrestrial television (DTT) is a technical development in television broadcasting, based on the broadcasting of digital television signals by a network of terrestrial hertzian retransmitters.

Compared to the analogue terrestrial television which it replaces, digital terrestrial television makes it possible to reduce the occupation of the electromagnetic spectrum while multiplying the number of channels per frequency, thanks to the use of appropriate modulations and standards, to obtain better picture quality, as well as lower operating costs for broadcast and retransmission once upgrade costs are amortized.
