The TCP/IP protocol (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) combines the two protocols TCP and IP. It is therefore a suite of protocols associated with the Internet domain for which it facilitates the transfer of data.
Presented simply, the TCP/IP protocol is a communication standard between two processes. It determines and fixes the rules inherent in the transmission and reception of data on a network. The association of the two protocols makes it possible to provide guarantees of reliability in the transfer of data.
